iOS Setup
Connect your iPhone to NotiVR
Requirements
- iPhone running iOS 17 or later
- PC with a compatible Bluetooth LE adapter
Tested Bluetooth Adapters
iOS support requires a Bluetooth adapter that supports the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) peripheral role.
It can be difficult to tell from product listings whether an adapter supports this mode. NotiVR checks your adapter during setup and lets you know if it is compatible.
These adapters have been tested or reported as working.
This list is not exhaustive. To report an issue or a working adapter, contact us.
Guide
Install the Companion App
Download the NotiVR companion app from the App Store. Use the link or scan the QR code shown in NotiVR.
Once the app is installed, open it and proceed to the next step.
Enable Bluetooth
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your PC and iPhone.
- iPhone: Settings > Bluetooth > toggle on
After you click "I've enabled Bluetooth", NotiVR checks your Bluetooth adapter and tells you whether it is compatible.
If your adapter is not compatible, you may need to purchase a compatible adapter. Check the tested Bluetooth adapters list for more information.
Pair your iPhone
- On your PC, click "Start Pairing".
- In the iPhone app, tap Connect.
- Select your PC if the app shows a device list.
- Accept any Bluetooth pairing prompts shown on your iPhone or PC.
The handshake can take a few seconds. If progress stops, make sure you accepted the Bluetooth pairing prompt.
If you are stuck on the handshake process, follow our troubleshooting guide.
Approve Notification Sharing
Once you see a green checkmark on your iPhone, your phone has completed the handshake process.
A popup should appear within a few seconds asking you to approve notification sharing. Tap "Allow" to continue.
After this, you are done. Keep the companion app installed on your phone. It runs in the background and reconnects to your PC automatically.
