Configure notification sounds
NotiVR can play a sound when notifications arrive. These settings are found on the Sounds tab.
Enable Notification Sounds
Toggle notification sounds on or off. When disabled, all sound-related controls are greyed out.
Default: Enabled
Volume
Controls the volume of notification sounds.
- Range: 0% – 100%
- Default: 70%
Default Sound
The sound played when a notification arrives that doesn't have a specific sound assigned. Select from sounds provided by installed packs, or choose None for silent notifications.
Sounds are grouped by pack in the dropdown menu. You can preview the selected sound with the play button.
Per-App Sounds
Customize the notification sound for specific apps. This section appears after NotiVR has seen notifications from at least one app.
For each app, you can:
- Select a custom sound from your installed packs
- Preview the sound with the play button
- Reset to remove the override (reverts to the pack default or global default sound)
Sound Priority
When a notification arrives, NotiVR picks the sound in this order:
- User override — a per-app sound you set manually (highest priority)
- Pack default — a sound defined by an installed pack for that app
- Global default — the default sound you selected above
- None — no sound if nothing is configured
